Celebrating Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month
“大学 is fortunate to have a vibrant and diverse community inclusive of many ethnicities and individuals who speak more than 100 languages. 作为一个亚裔美国人 and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI) we understand the unique experiences of our AAPI community. We work diligently to provide programs and resources that empower our students, amplify their voices, and support their needs so they can grow and thrive at Chabot and beyond.
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month and “大学
is proud to highlight the many different AAPI learning communities and clubs, such
as Movement, Nesians Unite, Barangay Chabot, China Association, Chabot K-Pop Club,
International Students Club, South Asian and Punjabi Club, and the Vietnamese Student
Association, who are all contributing to the vibrancy of our campus.
I am excited to see this in action with the AAPI Heritage Month events happening throughout
this month, like the Night Market this afternoon or the “Rock Da Mic” Night on May
8. These are just a couple of ways that the AAPI groups bring culture and
社区在一起. Make sure to check the ag体育日历 on our homepage for additional
信息.
Please join me in celebrating AAPI Heritage Month by going to these events and the ones still to come as well as showing your support by using this 放大的背景, which honors the month through the lens of the Pacific Islander community. 这 was developed through the direction of the Asian Pacific Islander Education Association (APIEA) and those who are part of the planning of AAPI Heritage Month activities.

Welcome to “大学! For over 60 years, Chabot has helped students meet their academic, social, and employment dreams, goals and aspirations.
I am honored to start my presidency as Chabot’s 10th College 总统. 我很谦卑 to lead our prestigious institution and excited about the tremendous potential in our programs and services as we aspire to be the best community college in the state.
“大学 will start this academic year with a number of established and exciting new programs and resources such as our outstanding HSI STEM grant that promotes a STEM Summer Bridge program, offers embedded tutoring, work-based learning, and comprehensive student services, and encourages completion/transfer to STEM majors at 4-year universities. We are also developing a basic needs student success center, referred to as THE HUB, which will house our food pantry, student direct aid, community resources, CAL Fresh Food assistance, and school supplies. Moreover, our academic offerings have expanded by increasing the number of online classes, non-credit, and dual enrollment offerings.
